Have questions?  We have answers!

What should I bring?

We recommend that you bring about 150-200 business cards for networking.  You may also want to take notes during the speakers, so something to write on and with is advised.  While the HVAC system is amazing, it is sometimes difficult to keep all of the areas equally warm with so many people, so a sweater or light jacket is a good idea as well.  Name tags are provided at check in, but if you’d prefer to wear your business tag, you’re welcome to.

Is there food?

Yes!  Your event ticket includes a continental breakfast, buffet lunch, and 2 drink tickets for the networking/social time at the end.

What should I wear?

Attendees are generally in business or business-casual attire.  You will be networking and moving from the ballroom (where keynote speakers and lunch happen) to breakout sessions on the upper levels during the day.   Comfort is key, especially in your shoe choice.  Bring a sweater or blazer for times when the air conditioning is working too well.

How do I know where to sit?

When you come in, you’ll sign in at the registration table and then you’re free to enter the ballroom.  You can take any seat that’s open.  To get the most out of the networking aspect of the event, we encourage you to sit away from your friends and coworkers, but you’re welcome to sit anywhere you’re comfortable.

I signed up for a workshop when I registered, but now I’ve changed my mind.  Can I attend a different workshop?

Absolutely!  We want you to get what you need from the day.

Is the conference limited to members of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce?

No.  This conference is to empower women in the region through skills building professional development and networking.  Women of all walks of life are encouraged to come and will find it beneficial.

Where do I park for the event?  Is parking included in my registration?

The Inn at Virginia Tech as a large lot with free parking off Prices Fork Rd.  Be aware, however, that the lot will fill quickly and you may have to walk some distance.  Carpooling is encouraged.

Can I reserve my seat now and pay at the door?

No.  All seats must be paid for before the day of the conference.

Will my employer count this as work hours for professional development and/or pay for my registration fee?

Many local employers have seen the value of providing incentives for women to attend the conference.  Talk to your employer.

Is there a group rate?

If you or your organization is interested in sponsoring multiple tickets, contact Sharon Scott at sscott@montgomerycc.org for more information.

I have special needs.  Will I be accommodated?

All rooms are wheelchair accessible.  If you have other needs, we are happy to try to accommodate but will need to plan for them.  Please don’t hesitate to contact the Chamber at chamber@montgomerycc.org with your requests.

Is there a scholarship opportunity available?

A group that formed at a previous conference, the Women Leaders Connect group, is willing to possibly sponsor an individual to this year’s conference.  Please contact Bonnie Lyons for more information.
